It is not the strongest of species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to
change. Charles Darwin.
I was in the company of some friends, when someone received a call that a friend who is a soldier has just been transferred to Borno state. My friend began to sweat, it was so visible to us that the news made him uncomfortable.
I thought for a while, some few years ago, that is no news to be worried about. But in the Nigeria of today, that is a bad news for friends and family of a soldier or any security personnel
Some people will ask, so what has that got to do with change?
I’ve come to understand over time, that holding on to certain mindset, attitudes, traits and habit that are destructive and do us no good, it’s like a conscious relocation of a comfortable Lagos guy to Maiduguri in search of a greener pasture in this season of Boko Haram…….doom is imminent.
I have come to see that change is an outstanding gift that God has bestowed on mankind.
It’s one of the characteristics peculiar to human which lend us an advantage over animals, an
inanimate objects, if indeed, we embrace it.It is an opportunity to be in control and re-create, a
chance at dynamism and growth.
Change in essence, is a renewal of mind, a shift in perspective, a decision to employ a different
strategy, to think in a different way and an adaptive response to varying circumstances.
Well said. Keep up the good work!
